Photographer: This Is It studios (@thisisitstudios)

Name: Andrea Ng
Work Title: Founder, Glo Media
Hometown City: Richmond, B.C

Q. What is your morning go-to drink?
A. Tea. I try my best not to drink too much coffee because it keeps me too wired throughout the day.

Q. If you were on a jet plane right now, where would you be headed?
A. It's so hard to choose... but I would have to say Japan. I miss the food and culture so much!

Q. Tell us one thing that not everyone may know about you
A. Survivor is my favourite TV show and I would kill to be on the show!

Q. Tell us your three favourite things about Founding Glo Media?
A. My clients. One thing I've learned since starting Glo is that you have to be able to vibe with your clients. In the beginning, I wasn't able to be as picky and said yes to everyone, but now that I am a bit more established and understand client relations a lot more, I am able to really narrow down and connect with business owners on the same wavelength.

My three favourite things about the industry:
1. There are so many to list. So here are a few. The first nightmare was trying to figure out my business license and taxes. Secondly, trying to determine how much to charge. No one tells you how much to charge and how much to not charge and trying to find that sweet spot takes a lot of trial and error. Lastly, one of the most important lessons I learned is to be SUPER organized. Being organized is key when you want to be successful in your business, this also shows the level of professionalism you have to your clients and potential clients.

2. I am not boxed into a certain industry. Glo is so versatile and works with all different kinds of industries e.g. Automotive all the way to the Bridal industry. It makes work way more fun and interesting.

3. My Team. Being a strong leader is one thing, but having a strong team is the most important. Meghan and Kerry are such superstars and are always willing to learn more with an uplifting and positive attitude.

Q. You’re also known as ‘Vancouver PR Girl.’ What do you enjoy most about working in Public Relations?
A. No day is ever the same. Literally, every day's rewards or battles are different and that to me feels so exciting. Also, there are so many components to PR and I love that I get to not only do a bit of digital marketing and also focus on graphic design.

Q. We love following along with you! What inspired you to create your own blog AND your PR business?
A: Blog - I started my blog because I wanted to share my views on women empowerment. As well, I've always been that friend that you ask for the latest scoop or tips and tricks, or what to eat when I travel to X, so I decided to start my blog to share all my tips, tricks, and travel experiences.

PR - After going through a bad break up of 4 years, I decided to treat myself to a solo trip across Spain and Portugal and since then I've had the travel bug. After graduating University and working in the corporate world for over a year I made the decision to start my own PR company so that I could pursue my dream to work and travel at the same time.

Q. What kind of tips and/or advice can you offer to someone wanting to launch a business of their own?
A. Stay organized and work smart. If possible seek out a mentor because sometimes your friends and family can't always be there and understand all the things you're going through in your business. A mentor will help guide you and make sure you're on the right track.

Q. If you could offer one piece of advice to high school Andrea, what would you say?
A. If anyone tells you that your sass needs to be toned down, you can tell him or her to go to hell. Your sass is what makes you Andrea.

Q. What is your all-time favourite quote?
A. So hard to choose... but I do have 1 that I follow quite often. Do it once do it right. This is something my mom always said and it's stuck with me ever since. It's a good reminder when I'm tired at the end of the day to give it one last push to double check all my work to make sure everything is perfect for my clients.
